Our software is developed in-house and goes through a vigorous testing phase prior to release. The standard operating system requirements are listed below.

System Requirements for 3D Inspection System: Standard – Premier – Focus Editions

The current version (see above) of 3D Inspection System software is compatible with these minimum requirements:

1 GHz Pentium III or faster
Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit)
2 GB RAM recommended; 4GB+ recommended for 64-bit Windows
800x600 minimum resolution
Internet connectivity needed for some features and automatic updates

You may be able to use the software even if your system does not meet our minimum system requirements, however performance may be somewhat less than expected if you use the minimum recommendation or less. If you use an unsupported operating system, virtual environment, or obsolete version, we may be unable to assist should unexpected technical issues arise.

3D software does not run as a native application on Apple or Mac OS computers. Although we do not officially support the setup, some users have reported success with using emulator or boot options that allows one to run Windows applications on a Mac.

3D Inspection System software is designed and tested for use in English versions of Windows.  Although custom add-on content created by resellers for producing alternate language inspections may be available, our technical support and program menus are English-only.  Some Windows language keyboard options (such as French and Spanish) are compatible for inputting inspection data, however "Supplemental language support" for East Asian languages (Korean, etc.) are not compatible.

3D Inspection Systems will work on regular PCs, laptops, and Tablet PCs. If you are looking for a more rugged laptop, many inspectors like the Panasonic ToughBook line of mobile computers or  Fujitsu LifeBook and Stylistic Tablet PCs.  We recommend a screen designed for indoor and outdoor use for inspections.

System Requirements for Pocket 3D

The current version of Pocket3D is compatible with these devices:

  • Phones running Windows Mobile 6 "Professional"
  • Pocket PCs running Windows Mobile 6 "Classic"
  • Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC running "Windows Mobile for Pocket PC"
  • Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC running "Windows Mobile for Pocket PC Phone Edition"

Note: We recommend a phone/PDA with a long or wide screen rather than a square style screen for easier viewing of more selections at once.  A variety of phones running Windows Mobile Professional are available, as well as popular stand-alone Pocket PCs such as SoMo, Asus, HP iPAQ, etc.  Read our Tips article about finding compatible devices

Please note that Pocket3D is NOT compatible with Windows Mobile 6 "Standard" devices, or phones running "Windows Mobile for Smartphone".  Pocket3D also does NOT run on other non-Windows Mobile operating systems such as iPhone, iPad, Android, WebOS, etc.
